Lana Reid studied Recreational Therapy at Niagara College Canada and graduated with honors. Her educational background equips her with the knowledge and skills necessary for providing personalized and compassionate care to elderly individuals. Lana's experience as a dietary aide at a long-term care facility inspired her to focus on improving the lives of seniors. She recognizes the positive impact of offering personalized care to the elderly and their loved ones. With specific experience in assisting individuals living with memory decline, Lana understands the importance of patience, care, and compassion in helping those with dementia. Her goal is to help them overcome barriers to independence and develop a strong sense of self.
Lana is a registered professional member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO). She has completed various courses, including DementAbility Way, Validation and Effective Communication Techniques, Virtual Dementia Tour, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Lana holds certifications as a Nordic Pole Walking Instructor, DROMFIT Instructor, and Memory Care Chair Yoga Instructor. She is also a P.I.E.C.E.S practitioner and is certified in First Aid CPR/AED Level C with Basic Life Support (BLS). Lana's commitment to learning and professional development is evident as she continues to pursue further education in the Positive Approaches to Care (PAC) way of caregiving and strives to become a Pac Trainer.
