Therapy Moving Forward is delivered directly in-person from a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Lana Reid is a professional and passionate recreational therapist and she is also the name behind Therapy Moving Forward.
Lana studied Recreational Therapy and graduated with honours from Niagara College Canada. Prior to her graduation, Lana served as a dietary aide at a long-term care facility. It was this experience that inspired Lana to embark on the mission to do more to help improve the lives of seniors. Lana has seen both through her education and experience that providing compassionate and personalized care to the elderly can have an incredibly positive impact on their lives, along with the lives of their loved ones.
With experience specifically in helping those with Dementia and Alzheimer’s, Lana understands the patience, care, and compassion that is required to truly assist those living with dementia to overcome the barriers that prevent them from maintaining independence and maintain a strong sense of self.
Lana is a registered professional member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO) and a certified Nordic Pole Walking Instructor, DROM (Drumming) and Chair Yoga Instructor. To date, Lana has also completed courses in the DementAbility Way, Virtual Dementia Tour and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and is certified in First Aid and CPR/AED Level C as well as Basic Life Support (BLS).
